A Torah-centric congregation in Dinwiddie, Virginia — rooted in the covenant of Abraham, gathering each Shabbos to pray, study, and grow together.
Our Story
Planted in the Dinwiddie Valley
Congregation Etz Shemen — the Olive Tree — takes its name from the promise of our Land's produce, a symbol of Israel's covenant relationship with the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We are a Torah-centric congregation committed to the practice of Judaism, honoring the full counsel of Torah and halacha.
We gather each Shabbos to daven, read Torah, and share a communal meal. Our mid-week Thursday evening study at 6:00 PM goes deeper into the Word, exploring the richness of Torah and its application to daily Jewish life.
Whether you are Jewish, a lover of Israel, or simply hungry for the depth of Torah, you are welcome at our table. Come as you are — Shabbos Shalom.

Rabbi Daniel has served Congregation Etz Shemen since its founding, bringing a deep love of Torah, the Hebrew language, and the practice of Judaism to every service and study.
